Sen. Rick Scott Urges Americans to ‘Stop Buying Anything Made in Communist China — Buy American Instead!’

Sen Rick Scott of Florida

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) is calling on Americans to take a stand against Communist China by refusing to buy Chinese-made goods—and choosing American-made products instead—as President Donald Trump escalates the U.S. response with aggressive new tariffs.

“Communist China has chosen to be our adversary,” Scott declared. “Every American family and business should stop buying anything made in Communist China and buy American instead!”

The push comes after Trump’s “Liberation Day” announcement, which marked a major shift in trade policy. In response, China vowed to “fight to the end,” raising tariffs on American goods up to 84 percent. Trump fired back, increasing tariffs on Chinese imports to a staggering 125 percent, while offering lower rates to countries engaging in fair negotiations instead of retaliating.

“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

He continued, emphasizing a more favorable approach for cooperating nations:

“At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable.”

Trump also introduced a 90-day tariff pause—with a reduced 10% reciprocal tariff—for over 75 countries that have reached out to U.S. representatives to negotiate in good faith.

On the same day, Sen. Scott introduced a sweeping bill package designed to protect American investors and crack down on Communist China’s economic influence.

The package includes:

  • TICKER Act – Trading and Investing with Clear Knowledge & Expectations about Risk
  • Protecting American Capital Act
  • SAFE Act – Secure America’s Financial Exchanges
  • TASK Act – Transaction and Sourcing Knowledge
  • STOP CCP Act – Sanction Transactions Originating from Pernicious Chinese Companies and Policies

According to Scott’s office, the legislation takes a comprehensive approach to holding Communist China accountable—by expanding sanctions, increasing transparency, and protecting investors from CCP-backed actors in the markets.

“Communist China has made clear they’re willing to use any means necessary to become the dominant global power, including exploiting Americans, our financial markets, and our economy,” Scott said.

“It’s about time we make clear to Communist China that they will be held fully accountable and play by the rules and laws of the United States.”

He added, “My legislative package makes critical changes to crack down on Communist China’s influence in U.S. markets—and bring the change needed to keep Americans’ dollars out of the hands of our enemy.”
